What are the Buyer’s Choice Awards?

Buyer’s Choice Awards are an annual award given by ConsumerAffairs to brands with outstanding customer reviews. The editorial team analyzes reviews written over the past 12 months and selects up to three Winners, and up to four Finalists, for each major category on the site.

Each of the 15 categories, from home warranties to moving to solar, is split into several category-specific topics like best claims handling, best value, best customer service and more.

Winning once makes the next one easier

None of this happens in isolation. The reviews Aspect for Reviews collects on your behalf are what wins the award in the first place, and winning builds the kind of trust that makes every conversation with a prospect — including the leads you’re already working through Marketplace — a little easier to close. Every customer you land is another review, so each cycle starts you off a little stronger than the last.

Frequently asked questions about the Buyer’s Choice Award

How did ConsumerAffairs choose the winners?

ConsumerAffairs selects winners by analyzing consumer reviews collected during the award period, to determine which aspects of a category matter most to buyers. The editorial team codes whether each brand’s experience on that aspect reads as positive or negative. ConsumerAffairs then compares each brand’s reviews against the rest of its category, and the brands that delivered the best experiences win.

How can my company win an award?

Collecting reviews from your real customers on ConsumerAffairs. You can direct customers to ConsumerAffairs through your own marketing, or work with Aspect for Reviews, which helps collect reviews for you, including by phone, so you don’t have to run the outreach yourself.

How many companies can win an award for each aspect?

Up to three companies can win as Winners for a given aspect. Additionally, ConsumerAffairs can name up to four more as Finalists. ConsumerAffairs names fewer in a category when not enough brands meet the bar set by consumers.

What time period counts toward the award?

The 2026 awards are based on reviews collected over a 12-month window, from April 2025 through March 2026.

Does winning affect my Marketplace leads?

No. Marketplace is how brands buy consumer leads, and winning a Buyer’s Choice Award doesn’t change your Marketplace terms or pricing. What it does change is what buyers see before they ever reach you: a trust marker on your profile, public recognition on ConsumerAffairs’ own awards page, and material you can put in your own marketing. Buyer behavior shows why that matters: BrightLocal’s 2026 Local Consumer Review Survey found 68% of consumers won’t consider a business rated under 4 stars, so a named, dated award is one more fast signal that you clear that bar.
